Hey guys. I'm new here and is asking for any tips on how to do the PAT section.
I'm especially bad at the orthographic projection as well as the key hole. Any tips or tutorials will be greatly appreciated.
BTW, if you have any other tips on other sections of the PAT, please post 'em up.
Thanks alot! 😍

Know these methods:

1. Line counting for the TFE
2. Tic Tac Toe Method for the Hole punches
3. For the cube counting section make a grid numbered 1-5, and put checkmarks after the number of cubes that have their faces painted. I have a more detailed explanation here http://predds.net/dat-pat-cube-counting-method

4. Get CrackDAT and practice also try some full length tests as well! I posted some practice tests on PreDDS.NET under the "DAT Practice" Section.

5. Try Topscore and Achiever as well, and buy the Kaplan book for more practice, try and complete as many PAT practice problems as you can using different study materials.

Good Luck!

Jon

For the hole punch section; do the folds ever fold away from the observer and underneath the paper? There are some hole punch folds in cliffs DAT PAT section like this, and I havent seen this in Kaplan, Barrons, Crack etc. In all the other hole punch probs the folds come out of the plane of the page toward the observer (a valley fold in oragami). But there are some folds in cliffs that fold into the plane of the page (a mountain fold in oragami). Could someone who knows what I'm talking about weigh in. Thanks

TFE:Line counting should not be used as the primary method. First, you must visualize by understanding solid /dashed lines and also know the dimensions of each view. As you may have read, line counting only really works in CDP. Achiver and 2009 ADA released test have very few questions where answer can be derived using line counting.

Search for "line of symmetry method ", and use that method. Very effective. Almost never miss a question in hole punching. After looking at video, try easy examples first then later try harder.
