Aspirin for Kawasaki disease?

So it says in Pathoma that Kawasaki disease is treated with aspirin. Isn't aspirin harmful for children though, considering that the disease happens in children less than 4 years of age? Also why is Intravenous Immunoglobulin G used to treat Kawasaki disease along with aspirin? It doesn't really explain that in Pathoma.
 
like he said aspirins only hamful if the patient has a viral infection, in which the symptoms of kawaski's can resemble a viral infection, but bc of the risk of coronary thrombosis, you must give aspirin to prevent this

This is exactly why it's super HY to know ASA treatment for Kawasaki's. Everyone will incorrectly think it's a viral illness and eliminate ASA as an answer.
 
Ok. I wasn't aware that aspirin was only contraindicated if the child has a viral illness. I thought it was always contraindicated.
