I remember reading from somewhere (but don't recall) that in children, the typical picture of aspirin overdose is only Metabolic acidosis of increased anion gap variety, without a concomitant respiratory alkalosis.

Anyone with an input?

Thanks

Infants rarely present with pure respiratory alkalosis. Respiratory alkalosis may not develop in an infant or it may be short-lived. The most common presentation for a child is metabolic acidosis.
