Hello all.

I am trying to go into Dentistry.

I have:

Physiology = B
Anatomy = B
Chem 11 (first time) = D
Chem 11 (second time) = C
Microbiology = C

All other classes (non-science) are A's.

I want a fair assessment (i am feeling very desperate right now): Do I even have a chance? Should I continue with my science education while trying to improve my science GPA? Or should I admit the fact that this does not look good?

I would appreciate your help very much.

Thank you !!!!

what year are you??

I think if you own the DAT and show some strong ECs good LOR and PS you would have a better chance than now. If you really want to be a dentist you should not give up on it.

my gen chem I got C
Gen bio 1 i got a C and B+ in the second one.
Im taking anatomy spring semester but I have never had a C in science class since then.

Just try hard to improve ur sGPA and own the DAT. there is a below 3.0 club on SDN and people do get in. These are just on SDN there are probably a lot more out there who do not get on here.

That level of consistency in science courses doesn't bode well. Are you able to improve your grades? Do you attend an extremely difficult school? Sure people get in with grades on the lower side of the spectrum, they odds just are not as good down there.

your interviewers may ask why is your non science gpa higher than science gpa. I was asked that questions and my science gpa is only 0.1 lower as compared to my non-science. Do you work, other activities? If you are working and supporting yourself then B's and C's is a different story(in my opinion) but you can still improve doing post-bac after you graduate.
