Hello, I know certain schools only allow limited amount of letters.
What if I send more than the max of letters they receive because AMCAS allowed me to send all 5 (# of letters I have)

Do I have to decide who's letter I will be sending to each school before submission?
I'm having a hard time understanding the direction from the guideline.

Thanks

-They will read them all (right @Goro ?) but really send what they say to send
-no, you can assign letters after submitting AMCAS

Some med school websites say they will only read X letters, if you oversend. If you exceed the limit of X, you have no choice over which ones they'll include in their decision-making. Of course we can only imagine that some schools will not impressed by your reading comprehension if you fail to follow directions.

If a school says, for example, "no more than three LORs" and you send five, they will think that you either can't follow simple instructions, or are such a special snowflake that you believe the rules don't apply to you.

And that makes a screener's job a lot easier.

Do not send more than the recommended number of letters.

Thank you for your reply. I didn't send over the max number of letters. I was just purely wondering what would happen. 🙂
