SO here's another dilemma...
I really liked this program--let's call it program A
All of my interviews went well except for the one I had with the asst PD. i got a VERY strong feeling that she didnt like me at all
and it almost seemed to me that she was discouraging me from the program. SHould I still rank this program based on how much I like it or should i consider that the asst PD did not seem to like me and factor that in......

Just my opinion--
I think you should rank the program based on how you liked it; not on how you perceive you were liked. That is what the match is all about! Besides, maybe all the interviewers and other people that you met will go to bat for you even if the Asst. PD didn't like you.

anaismd,
just like ejtan0 said, you should rank programs on your preference, not your perception on how they like/dislike you.
i had the exactly same thing happen to me at drexel(mcph). it hasn't changed my list at all and i don't think it should.

Anaismd,

I'm just curious. What did the assistant-PD do to make you feel she disliked you?

Anyway, the algorithm of the match works out so that you should rank in order of preference. Even if your first pick would be a long-shot, it does not mean the chances of you matching into the program ranked #2 is lessened because you rank it #2 instead of #1. If it comes down to your 2nd pick, even if the program fills with people who ranked it #1; as long as you're ranked higher than those other students on their list, you'll be matched there and everyone else gets bumped down. So it works to your advantage to rank in order of preference and not how you feel programs will rank you.

Good luck...I truly hope you get your first pick (program A).
