My undergrad has a contract with a nearby med school that allows up to 10 sophomores (usually only 1 or 2 actually get in) to be assured a spot in the med school granted they keep their GPA at a certain level and get a certain MCAT score. I'm not sure I want to apply. I had always thought I'd leave for college, but my dad got sick, etc. etc., so I ended up staying in my hometown. I desperately want to leave, but as you all well know, most of us probably won't get to pick our med schools. They pick us. I currently have a competitive app, but the thing is, if I apply, get accepted and still maintain a competitive app and choose to apply to other med schools at the end of my junior year, I void my assured spot. I would then have to reapply through the regular process if I want a shot at keeping my spot, and I don't know if they'd re-accept me seeing as to how I voided my acceptance. What to do? 😕

Also, it's a state med school, so I'd still have a pretty good shot at it, being a resident and all.
