I have severe asthma and IBS that causes me to go to the bathroom 7-8 times a day.

I am worried that these two conditions will affect me negatively as a physician.

How should address these issues to be a successful med student and doctor?

Can't speak for the asthma, but if your IBS is currently untreated, 8 mg of loperamide a day will change your life.

Get them successfully treated, or at least, better managed?

Get these issues well treated.

Then, ask your doctor what type of work would be realistic with your physical limitations under treatment.

If someone came to you and asked you that question how would you respond?

I hope the answer is "You should go to a physician and get any health issues resolved."

I feel really stupid referring someone to Reddit buuuut...for what it's worth, they have a pretty active and supportive IBS / crohn's subreddit there. You might find some good advice from them.
