This is for people who have stats that are supreme. Please state ur stats and how u accomplished gpa, pcat and experience. what school have u applied to and been accepted and denied.

Stats must be at or higher than:
Pcat: 90 or above with no sections below 60
GPA: 3.75 or above
Experience: 1 year minimum

as or myself i dont have the gpa above so i wont fall in here although i do have a 95 pcat and 3 years experience so ehhh im close i guess.

You forgot research experience + volunteering - generally good strong applicants to pharmacy school have everything you listed plus those two.

nah that would be asking too much lol. volunteering isnt hard to do. research is good but not as important as those listed above bc experience as pharm tech covers that.

What is the point of this? People get in with a wide range of stats.

to see what close to perfection looks like and how the accomplished it will help alot. haha but no one has replied so i guess the title lives up but u r right bc its extremely rare to find someone with those stats.

Or it's possible that people with scores like those don't want to appear arrogant-- coming right out and saying, "I'm near perfection" is like bragging, no?

So far as achieving those amazing stats goes, I imagine most would answer something to the effect of 1) don't just study, but actually learn the material inside and out, 2) practice for the PCAT before taking it to get a feel for the questions that will be asked, and 3) apply for and get a job at a pharmacy. I mean, that's just general advice, since I don't think there's a secret formula that they're holding back... 😉

4.0 gpa
99 Pcat
1000+ hours of volunteering, research, etc.
the best pharmacy tech ever.....
accepted to everywhere in the United States
ENOUGH SAID!

hahahah......i wish

But really, what is the purpose of this thread? Just to see how those geniuses obtain their astronomical stats? Well, its quite simple my friend --> they are geniuses! 😀

wow really no one has replied to this!

i am semi astronomical i guess but do not meet the 3.75 cut off gpa 🙁

so sad

3.7 overall
didnt take pcat (not required for the schools I applied to)
3 years in hospital program
med team trip to costa rica & nicaragua with ISL
3 years research (no projects just lab assistant)
science tutor now at a junior college

HOWEVER i am not cocky about getting in because i have NO direct pharmacy experience....meaning i have never been a tech, etc. in a pharmacy. I figured I would obtain a broader view of healthcare and pharmacy in a hospital, but now I am afraid this might turn out to be a negative thing since most of the people on this site have pharmacy experience!!!

plus i am a nervous wreck just thinking about interviews. i have never been interviewed in my life for anything!! yikes

is there a drug to make you calm down for interviews??? haha that should for sure get me in showin up all drugged up!! 🙂

good luck to all of you!!!

"Semi-astronomical" just doesn't cut it here, missy. He specifically asked for "astronomical stats." Now, take your mediocre semi-astronomical self to the back of the line, in case anyone who's truly astronomical shows up. They automatically get head-of-the-line privileges.

Hmmm..can we say benzodiazepines? Although that is kind of drastic! I like my method better: I chewed a lot of gum before my interview, and for some reason it really relieves my stress.

haha yeah that wouldn't be so great to pass out during an interview from being on drugs to calm me down.....ill try the gum thing, thanks!

well i better go move myself to the back of the line 😎

Yeah, you ain't nothin but terrific, fantastic, and maybe solid. I just don't see an "astronomical" or "supreme" in there though, so you'll have to setle for merely "really, really good."

🙂

This thread is not very useful, I must say.

:laugh::laugh: roflmao what can i say no one lived up to the stats so thats why it didnt serve a purpose bc no imput was given from those people. ok since i have an astronomical pcat score i will post what helped me so this thread wont be "not useful"

Reason for my Pcat Astronomical Score: 95 composite
Upper level classes
Kaplan somehat
barron somewhat
going beyond pre-reqs like taking microbio and calculus 2

If somebody asked me how to have a > 3.8 gpa I would only have a few suggestions.

#1 Get to know your schools library well and spend a minimum of 5 hours per week in there working on whichever subject you feel needs extra attention. That doesn't mean sit there and play with the computers, there are plenty of 2.5-3ish gpa people doing that already.

#2 Be as prepared as you can possibly be for tests and quizzes. That doesn't mean cramming the nite before the tests.

#3 Don't memorize, learn. There is a HUGE difference.

As far as the PCAT super score. I don't know, but I would think #1, #2, and #3 couldn't hurt.

Chuck Norris created the PCAT... 🙄

"Ex-Lax !" yells the Pharmacist. "That won't help a cough!"
"Sure it does," says the tech. "Look,.. he's afraid to cough."

haha, should post that one under pharmacy joke thread! 😆

-1.9 overall
-1.2 science

-kicked out of a pharmacy for stealing viagra
-2 DUI's
-OAT score 21

I forgot to mention, I also have my own beer named after me. And that s#it gets you drunk!
