Hey all, so first of all, since i haven't been here on the site for a while, i'll just say a brief few words about how much i am enjoying residency. i'm at the University of Arizona, and i absolutely love it. the faculty are all wonderful to work with, as are my fellow residents, there is a major focus on resident learning, and the amount i am learning is incredible. i really am enjoying it. so, thats my plug to you 4th years out on interviews. U of A is top notch, and tucson is a fun city to live in if you like a little quiet with beautiful weather and the college town feel.

but, thats not the intent of this post. my curiosity is about the job market in atlanta, as it compares to other parts of the country. eventually, i am looking at relocating to atlanta for personal reasons. i have poked around a little, but really haven't barked up too many trees yet. so, can anyone comment on the private practice market in atlanta and/or surrounding areas? with strong networking and a decent CV, is there any hope of landing a private practice gig out there out of residency and/or fellowship?

just curious and fishing for opinions or anecdotes. thanks all, and happy holidays . . .

They have Kaisers in Georgia. I went to a CareerMD fair a few weeks ago, & some of the recruiters from Georgia were there along w/ those from Northern & Southern California.

In case you're wondering, Kaiser is a large HMO in California that operates its own hospitals. They're jobs are pretty desirable over here.

watch out if you want to move to atlanta.

Forbes just named it the most toxic city in the US.
