I took two writing seminars in English and obtained a letter from my college certifying that they are the equivalent of English courses and I have the letter in a pdf format.

Do I just simply upload that onto the Letters of Evaluations section on the AMCAS and select to send that, along with my Committee letter, to every school I'm applying to?

Similarly, if my advisor wrote me a letter of evaluation that is not included in my Committee letter, do I also click to add/send that to each school I'm applying to in addition to my Committee letter?

Yuck. That is a tricky situation. I would think that uploading your own document into AMCAS would be a big no-no, but I don't really know. If I were you, I'd just find somewhere to explain it. I doubt the school would even care to ask for the letter.

Do they show up on the transcript as passed courses? That would be optimal.

I designated my writing seminars (went to a lib arts school) as English on AMCAS and had no problems.

Oh we're not supposed to upload our own documents?

Letters of rec for SURE not. Half of the idea of using Interfolio is that the applicant has never read the letters.

If it's on your transcript as a passed english course with the proper number of credits, just move on and say nothing. All they need is the grade and credits. Many schools don't accept pass/fail or clep tests so that would be an issue if it somehow fell into that category.

I'm in a similar situation at my university. I called up many of the schools and they mentioned that when you receive your secondaries, I need to send that letter it in to the schools directly from your university and send them an email letting them know that type of letter is coming in. But I would call the universities just incase on their policies.

So the issue is that, on my transcript, it the course name has a designation as a "Freshman Writing Seminar," but mine were taken in a non-english department, so the courses have non-english course titles: such as HORT(iculture) XXXX
