Hi
I was debating whether to go to a second look or not. If you have acceptance from school B that you would rather go to, but do not want to lose your spot at school A ( since you are waiting for financial aid news at school A), would you go to the second look at school A?

Do you loose your spot at school A if you don't go to their second look? I do not have money to attend and have to work (I have taken a lot of time off just for interviews already).

Thanks a lot

Nah, 2nd looks are optional. You won't lose your spot if you don't go.

The major consideration is what if you get a great financial offer from school A, and not such a great offer from school B. Then will you wish you had more experience with school A before making your decision?

Hi, and thanks for the reply.

How would you approach writing to the school that you can not attend their second look. What reason is good enough so that it does not sound like excuses. I have to work during that time, I guess I should just mention travel expenses and having to work, and that should be OK. Anyone has any opinion about what to write.

Thanks everyone

You don't have to give an excuse or a reason at all. Second look is optional. You're already in the school. You can't get kicked out for not going to second look

At my future school, you have to reply quick if you WANT a spot, cause there are not enough to go around. The default is not going, so I wouldn't worry about it. If you really feel like responding, then saying you have work obligations is not a bad response.
