How does attending opt school in a state other than where you want to practice affect your future? Would you recommend trying to attend an in-state school?

it wont matter where you get your OD degree. When you graduate you will have to take a state board exam in order to practice in that particular state, no matter what state you went to school in.

Unless you're talking about networking and future job opportunities. Then you'll get those through your externships or residency if you choose to do one.
