Hi guys

I have been accepted to USN Dental school, in south Jordan, the brand new program.

I was wondering what you guys, pharmacy students at this university think of USN program. I love everything I hear about the curriculum but I am a blank tablet, dont have any experience.

What do you think about the curriculum?
What do you think about the university, staff etc etc?
How does the testing, exams work, are you satisfied with the assesement every other friday?

Are exams hard? I know passing is 90%

Any feedback is appreciated.

Thanks

Why would you ask pharmacy students what they think of a dental school?

Why don't you read that one USN thread from last year :meanie:

But, if you want some good info/advice about the school, contact Diastole.

I'm not sure I have much to contribute. I have no idea what the dental curriculum will be like and don't know much about how things are done in Utah.

I do like the block system for pharmacy. I like the regular exams. It is easy to figure out how much you need time you need to set aside for studying because it is usually the same since there aren't midterms or finals to add in extra stress. Some blocks are harder than others but it is reasonably consistent.

I don't personally find the 90% thing to be a big deal but others would disagree. Do dental students get three day weekends if they pass? That part is the best. If dental works the same way as pharmacy, you'll find that some people regularly don't pass the exams on the first time and some people never have to reassess. If you walk into an exam knowing you are going to pass, the experience isn't that bad. If you walk into the exam thinking you are probably going to fail and then you might get a summer, then I imagine it is no fun at all. The experience varies a lot by how well you do on exams.
