Hi everyone, I am considering AUA (American University of Antigua). I was wondering if anyone could give some reviews about the program, the school, the island, and their FIU (Florida International University) partnership program. The main reason why I want to go is because of their Clinical rotations being with FIU.

I have read some pretty scary stuff about the school but I also have read some great stuff as well.

I got into SGU but I am scared of their big class sizes. I work better in smaller class settings.
I also dodged the WAUSM trap. It seems like a great school on paper but there is not track records and I am not down to being a guinea pig.

I am not a student, but have followed much of what has recently been happening. Based on what others have reported on other sites, the FIU partnership is more expensive, but the rotations are not that great. From what I've read, students have reported that they do not complete rotations alongside FIU students, and oftentimes, it's difficult to schedule. You are honestly better off at SGU, but as you said, that school is huge.

Avoid WAUSUM because you will not be able to take the USMLE at this time.

If you are committed to Caribbean route despite its challenges, which have been thoroughly discussed in this forum, consider AUC. It's a top Carribean school, one of the "big three," but it has much smaller class sizes than Ross or SGU.
