Hey all,

I love this community and all the knowledge that filters through it. Thanks for the awesome work thus far. I was accepted to AUC and recently to ROSS (within the last week) and am currently waiting for St. George's response (it has been approximately 4 weeks since the interview). I'm trying to gauge the school that would provide the best prep for the USMLE and ease of clinical rotation acquisition between ROSS and AUC. Also, is it normal to wait 4 weeks for a response from St. George's or is this a negative sign? Btw, all my applications are for the Jan 2008 class.

Thanks.

-Mark

Note: I have 1.5 weeks to respond to my ROSS acceptance or it will be withdrawn so I am hoping SGU responds soon so that I can make a final decision.

AUC hands down.

Ross will give you issues due to high class size (300-400) vs. AUC (70-180). Plus Ross' clinicals are a mess and will remain so for a long while.

Waiting 4 weeks is normal.

How about for AUC? How long do you have to respond to them? If its at least three or four weeks before the deadline to respond to AUC, I'd hold out for SGU. If less than that, go for AUC just to cover your bases.

Thanks for the replies.

Hey Phoenix,

If SGU is your first choice, I would suggest calling your admissions counselor and let him/her know that you have received another acceptance from another school but SGU is your first choice and is there any way to find out if you will be accepted before you need to give a non-refundable deposit.

I was in the same boat as you last year and I had a Ross acceptance pending so I called my counselor and she told me to fax over my acceptance letter to her and she put in front of the board for review for the upcoming Friday meeting. Incidentally, she call me that Friday and let me know I was in after they met.

FYI, I believe there review board meets every Friday.

Hope this helps
