Are there any good audio tapes/CDs out there about EM topics? Like board reviews or other summaries of EM-related topics. I tried searching this message board but not much came up. I'm an intern so I'm looking more for like general topics instead of journal articles (I'm talking about ACEP's EM Prep thing that I saw on their site)

thanks!

You might want to look into EM-RAP, it's a free benefit to all EMRA members. Just go to the EMRA website and link to it, you won't be dissappointed.

The rivers board review course offers CD lectures on general board type stuff. It's good but very dry. If I hadn't been studying for boards I wouldn't have listened to as much as I did.

Emergency Medicine Abstracts has CDs that are much more lively although they assume a little more familiarity with current practices in EM. It's still valuable stuff for a resident and won't put you to sleep in your car like the Rivers stuff will.

I'll second the recommendation of EM:RAPS. Also, EM:Abstracts is a great way to stay on top literature relevant to our practice. The two docs who do it are not at all dry and you'll get more than sufficient exposure to evaluation of research.

Oh, BTW. In addition to a free subscription to EM:RAPS, EMRA members also get free access to EM:Abstracts.

Go to www.emra.org and scroll down. On the left side will be a link to access to both of these products.

As soon as this benefit became available, I downloaded all of the prior EM:RAPS onto my ipod and have just recently caught up. This is my favorite way of studying.

Take care,
Jeff

Could also try audio digest (http://www.audio-digest.org) look under the Emergency Medicine specialty.

Same here. I love having EM:RAP on my ipod--it's nice for long runs. Haven't ventured into EM: Abstracts yet.
