I stupidly took a maximum credit load this semester. All of my classes are pre-reqs except for one elective major class. It is my easiest class (nothing but rote memorization), yet since I neglected it in lieu of studying for my pre-reqs, I am pulling a C- in that class, but I am getting A's in my pre-req classes.
Apparently I still have the option of switching to "audit," which allows me to stay in the class without receiving any letter grade for the class.
The straightforward question:
How do medical school admissions view "audits" on your transcript?
Would they necessarily even know that you switched to audit because you were doing poorly?
Also, if it is possible to switch to audit instead of drop (W), why do people drop (and receive Ws)? Am I missing something?
