Hey man, I 'm right there with ya. I'm going to be a senior, but I odn't think i want to take a year off before med school. I think I read somewhere that you got a 24 in April? Well anyhow, that's what I got, and my goal is to send out all my stuff as soon as possible so that my files will all be complete by the time the schools get my August scores.
That being said...schools will wait until you get your August scores before interviewing and stuff like that, unless you actually did well on the MCAT the first time. If you're one of those anal people who got a 30 and wants a 33 and is retaking, you might get looked at earlier. For the most part though, checking the box saying that you took the August MCAT means you're gonna wait a while to hear anything. Sucks, but it's true. Just make sure you have all of your secondaries and LORs in before the scores come out, that way all of your files will be complete by the time they get your scores. A complete file will get looked at before a person whose scores they just got and sitll have to wait for LORs or something. Good luck man...looks like we're in the same boat😡 That one's for having to retake in August, I'm thinking you feel the same way.
