Once August MCAT scores are released in mid-October, how long does it take schools to recieve these scores?

If an applicant has taken the MCAT for the first time in August and submits their application over the summer, when will schools send out secondaries?

perhaps in november?

It took about 11-14 days for schools to get my scores from the day scores were released in mid-October (August 2005 MCAT). I received 2 invites immediately after that and the rest in the following 4 weeks. Had 1 interview in December, 2 in November, 2 in January. Applied 5 schools.

Some schools send out secondaries before scores, some after scores, and some only if you are interviewed. Check on SDN for what the current secondary essays are and start working on them after you complete the August MCAT. Then cut and paste or print out when needed.

1- have your secondaries completed/prepped before MCAT scores come out.
2- Be sure that you are complete/verified at AACOMAS before scores come out. This means submitting your application by mid August with all transcripts already received.
3- verify you are complete at all schools in early November.

I reread the OP and updated my orginal post. I sent out secondaries for PCOM, LECOM, UMDNJSOM the week MCAT scores came out. Those schools sent secondaries pre-MCAT score release.

UNECOM did not send me a link to their secondary website until after they got my MCAT. I already had the link and completed the application but saved the info and sent when it was requested. Their policy is not to give out secondaries unless you get an 18M+. So had to wait for scores.

NYCOM sent my secondary with my interview invite in December.Their policy is only to give secondaries to those that are interviewing. 👍

first time I took the MCAT was August 2005

thanks hg! appreciate the info!
so i guess i will get to do some secondaries before my mcat as well then...
