Hi all,

Am currently interning in Australia and am looking to head o/s for my 2nd or 3rd year out of med school to either Canada or the UK (have heard great things about both!) Am an Australian and UK citizen currently. Does anyone know how to get more info, what the chances of this working is and if there are any entrance exams etc? Any help would be great!

Cheers,
Andrew.

While doin a search in this and the Australia forums will yield, dozens (if not hundreds) of threads on the topic, the following links will get you started:

USMLE (the exams you'll have to take)

ECFMG (the certificate of credential verification you'll have to have)

NRMP (the match process for obtaining a position in the US)

ERAS (the centralized application service you need to enroll in to get a position)

Best of luck.

If you're looking for Canada or the UK, you might not find a lot of resources here. There are hit and miss people who are training or have trained in those places, but this website is decidedly US-centered, including people from non-US schools looking to train in the US.

Many (most? All?) the resources listed above will not help you with Canadian residency or UK registration.

Good pick up. I was reading the OP's message in a hurry and read it as Canada or the US, not the UK.

Apollyon is correct. I will close this thread here and reopen the one I closed in the UK forum since you don't appear to be interested in a US residency.
