Position Overview

We are seeking a medical school graduate (MD or DO) to join our medical review team. This is a unique, non-clinical role ideal for recent graduates—especially those who did not match into residency—who are interested in utilizing their medical knowledge in a legal setting.

You will assist our attorneys by conducting in-depth reviews of medical records to evaluate whether standard of care violations may have occurred, and whether such violations caused harm to patients.

Key Responsibilities

- Review and analyze medical records for potential malpractice claims
- Prepare concise case summaries and highlight pertinent clinical issues
- Identify lapses in the standard of care, causation, and damages
- Collaborate with attorneys to determine case merit
- Assist in drafting chronologies and questions for medical expert witnesses
- Stay informed on medical guidelines and standards relevant to active cases

Qualifications

- MD or DO degree from an accredited institution (U.S. or international)

- Clinical knowledge across multiple specialties (internal medicine, OB/GYN, surgery, etc.)

- Strong written and verbal communication skills

- Detail-oriented with strong critical thinking and analytical abilities

- Proficiency with software programs including Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Word

- Residency not required; ideal for unmatched graduates seeking nonclinical opportunities

- Must be available to work on-site at the Boston office

Preferred But Not Required

- Prior experience reviewing medical records or legal-medical consulting
- Interest in medical ethics, patient safety, or legal medicine

What We Offer

- Meaningful, mission-driven work
- Hands-on legal exposure and career development opportunities
- Collaborative, supportive work environment
- Health insurance, 401(k), PTO, early releases on Friday from Memorial Day through Labor Day

How to Apply

Please send your resume, a short statement of interest, and any relevant writing samples (e.g., clinical summaries, case write-ups) to [email protected].

Note to Applicants

This position is open to unmatched MDs/DOs, international medical graduates (IMGs), and those seeking a transition from clinical to non-clinical roles.
