We are seeking a medical school graduate (MD or DO) to join our medical review team. This is a unique, non-clinical role ideal for recent graduates—especially those who did not match into residency—who are interested in utilizing their medical knowledge in a legal setting.You will assist our attorneys by conducting in-depth reviews of medical records to evaluate whether standard of care violations may have occurred, and whether such violations caused harm to patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and analyze medical records for potential malpractice claims- Prepare concise case summaries and highlight pertinent clinical issues
- Identify lapses in the standard of care, causation, and damages
- Collaborate with attorneys to determine case merit
- Assist in drafting chronologies and questions for medical expert witnesses
- Stay informed on medical guidelines and standards relevant to active cases
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree from an accredited institution (U.S. or international)- Clinical knowledge across multiple specialties (internal medicine, OB/GYN, surgery, etc.)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented with strong critical thinking and analytical abilities
- Proficiency with software programs including Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Word
- Residency not required; ideal for unmatched graduates seeking nonclinical opportunities
- Must be available to work on-site at the Boston office
Preferred But Not Required
- Prior experience reviewing medical records or legal-medical consulting- Interest in medical ethics, patient safety, or legal medicine
