As one may have guessed from my other MSTP query, I'm beginning to take stock of my odds of getting into medical school (because I always have the option of adding an extra year and a Masters if I need more time).

I'm really trying to add more clinical work, but I started wondering why medical schools want to see it...only because, if you put together everything I've done, then it sounds perfect, even if none of it is specifically clinical.

I've learned all of the following...

Putting up with people who fail to read directions, comply, or show human level intelligence, all while doing the same simple thing a million times -- working as an IT 'repair person'

Being cursed out, putting up with drunk people, and angry people -- see above

My dislike, but ability to cope with LOTS of blood and guts -- working at an animal rescue

Seeing people die, showing compassion, seeing the "bad side" of medicine and still wanting to work -- volunteer work in a hospice (I did absolutely nothing clinical)

I could package that up into my personal statement...right...😎?
