What's the average number of integrated reports that are required to match to internship? By the time I apply to internship, what number of reports would be considered high, and what number would be considered low? Also, I'm applying at an externship where I would be doing testing, but no report writing. However, she stated that I could write up reports for her to review on patients if I would like. Thoughts?

Uh, what the point of giving tests if you don't communicate the findings/impressions to anyone?

Well, learning test administration is important early on fro foundational purposes. My assumption with the above case was that the student was acting primarily as a psychometrist. Which can be helpful, but it's also key to land practicum sites where you will be allowed to write reports under supervision, as those are what count for integrated report writing.

Oh Ok. So at least someone is writing the report...got it.

Thank you. It seems as they though the site would more so be hiring me as a psychological associate where I would only be administering the battery and the report would be written by someone else.

Because there is so much variability in the numbers (seriously, check the directory for any random site) its hard to say what would be 'required' for matching. The number of reports varied per site (usually from 4 or 5 all the way up to about 100+) I looked at/applied to this cycle, as well as those my cohort and friends applied to. I think what people are using as "integrated reports" is very off base and the numbers people are reporting don't line up with reality. I felt like having about 20 reports was a fairly strong assessment focus (I'm a non-neuro track applicant) given that two years of externship were at places without a strong testing emphasis (i.e., CMHC).

Definitely happens sometimes, but those of us who do assessment definitely ask, and if someone is misleading with their integrated reports, it does significantly drop their application.

I believe there are past threads that detail all kinds of internships factors (#of reports, #clinical hours, #supervision hours). Search past threads. Pre-internship, I had 5 psychodiagnostic batteries and one neuropsych battery (hmmm...may have been 5 total, but all integrated clinical reports). I feel like it was a 'healthy' average, in comparison to what I've discussed with others.

I was asked in three interviews what I considered to be an "integrated report," and how many I had completed (5). One interviewer indicated that they were concerned about several interviewee's perceptions of what qualified as integrated.

I can empathize. I've seen applicants use a cognitive screener (MMSE/MoCA) and a depression self-report (BDI/GDS) as an integrated report. These applications usually don't make it very far, although they often have other red flags.

I don't know if I would have wanted to do a practicum at a site where that was all I was expected to do. Is this just a source of additional money? At one of my practicum sites (VA hospital) we even had a psychometrist administer and score the tests for us and we did the interview, interpretation, report, and feedback.

It would be a second site, I'd be doing two next year and this one appealed to me because of the population
