For those of you who still managed to get a decent amount of interviews...In addition to applying early, what technique or approach did you take to secondary essays that you think maybe gave you an upper edge or adcoms maybe commented they really liked in your app?

I'm a pretty slow writer and doing my best to work through the secondaries, I was wondering what advice anyone has on turning in quality writing.

Thanks a lot for the help!

Always try and ask yourself "Would someone else be able to write an essay on this topic/in this format?" If yes, then see if you can think of something a bit different. If all your essays stand out, it will help. Also, make sure to get everything editted, maybe by a friend. The faster you turn it in, the better though. Maybe give some incentive for your friend to edit like offer to treat them to a nice dinner or something. When recycling essays, make sure the essay fully answers the prompt. Although two prompts may seem similar, they may be asking for different things. It is easy to notice when someone uses an essay thats been recycled and doesn't really answer what the question is looking for.

All I can say is that you need to write well (coherent, succinct sentences). As a former writing tutor, I can't tell you how many people I've run into that couldn't string together a coherent sentence.

Make sure you have people read your work over. As far as personality/something to set you apart, I'm not too sure. Be yourself?
