Hey guys. I'm applying to many schools with BS/MD and BS/DO programs;
The setback(a very serious one at that) would be my average performance in high school. Although I accomplished near straight As with 4 B+'s in total for my freshman and sophomore years, I didn't spend as much effort in classes as I should have due to some emotional and social reasons/getting into a relationship in my junior year. That broke my grades from a 3.95+ down to a 3.56. There were around three C range grades. I was really not smart.
So I'm applying to as many of these joint degree programs as possible.
Aside from the 3.56, my SATs are
620CR
750Math
640Writing
800Chinesew/Listening
750MathII
720Biology-Molecular
770Chemistry

Some notable ECs would be
Stagecraft Crew (3Y)
80 hours physician shadowing
Scholastic Arts & Writing - Silver Medalist(2Y)
Concert Repertoire Violinist(4Y)
Animal Shelter Intern(2Y)
Badminton - Varsity (4Y)
Amnesty International - Ceramicist (all my pieces auctioned for charitable purposes) (2Y)
District Badminton Junior Division Gold Medalist - Singles (1Y)
District Badminton Junior Division Bronze Medalist - Bronze (1Y)
International Service (travel to thailand for volunteer work/related) (2Y)
and some other active personal hobbies...Animal Welfare Activism, Track, Reading, Singing

Program List:
Franklin Pierce U MD Pathway Program w/ St. George Medical School
Caldwell University BS/MD w/ St. George Medical School
Canisius College LECOM 3+4/4+4

The average matriculant stats for the BS/MD in my state (Texas) are as follow:

3.95 GPA
35 ACT
2300 SAT (old scale)
1550 SAT (new scale)

There are about 6 programs

Just to give you an idea of your relative competitiveness.

I don't know what all that means, is OP competitive?

Thanks for the input! However this seems a little far-fetched. Perhaps the top 0.1% of a nation can achieve that SAT and ACT score.

As someone who applied bs/md I can say that it is really competitive and you are typically competing against candidates who also get acceptances to ivies and other top schools. I had 400 hrs shadowing, volunteering, >2300 SAT, research at a medical school and a few strong ECs (national athlete) and only got 2 interviews to Combined programs (at frankly average programs with terrible retention rates).
I didn't have the greatest high school GPA (3,70).

I'm not sure how competitive BS-DO programs are.

Most students I knew who applied to BS/MD programs had similar stats, it's not farfetched at all. Like someone said earlier in the thread, you're competing with kids that also get into ivy league schools and many top universities.

Lol do you think becoming a doctor is easier than performing in the top 0.1% within the total pool of high school students?

Oops I really should be going easy on the kids. Let me rephrase that: no it's not far stretched.
