General neurologists, like general IM docs, make an average of $150-240k in private practice. And of course, similar to specialty IM docs, neurology specialists make a lot more. I have read and heard about salaries of specialists ranging from $250-$400k.
Procedures besides EEGs/EMGs include: nerve conduction velocity (NCV) studies, nerve blocks, nerve biopsies, botox, sleep studies, neuroimaging, neurography, dopplers, deep brain stimulation (DBS).
Some of these procedures are currently evolving in academic programs such as DBS and will become more widely used in coming years. The future is bright!
