Did anyone use awards received right after high school or during high school? such as AP awards and national merit awards for PSATs?

also, for honors, if I expect to graduate cum laude, but I haven't received word officially until winter, I'm assuming it's safe not to even mention it just in case?

I applied after 2 years of prepharmacy, so I did. If you have a degree, high school is probably not relevant, but if you don't really have anything you received in college, it's better to include them.

Don't know about the cum laude...

I would mention your cum laude if you just say that you expect to receive it in the description box.

I would usually say to leave HS out of the picture, but there are always exceptions. A National Merit Scholarship is an exception in my opinion. Still, it depends how many years out of HS you are. If you've done 4 years of college (or beyond), they will expect that you have more proximate accomplishments.
