did anyone include any awards or dinstinctions from high school? i assume u wouldnt include things like national honor society, but what about something major like national merit scholarship finalist, or the fact that u were selected as a delegate to the national youth leadership forum on medicine?

It's better than leaving it blank or putting N/A .... I don't know how much the schools care about what you did in highschool, but I can't see it hurting.. You still won the award, be proud of it.. Two of the schools I applied to both requested SAT scores, one even wanted my HS transcript. I put awards/honors that I received in college, but then again, I didnt have any from highschool.

BIG things from high school are ok... other than that, most adcom's want to see you've been involved doing things as an undergrad, accomplishing things in the years you were at college. That said, like as previously mentioned, something may be better than a whole bunch of blank space.

so what would u consider BIG?

National Merit Scholarships, full-ride scholarships to college, "student-of-the-year" type awards, Student Body President, etc.

Not usually "letter in football", "service club officer", "lead in the school musical" or "1st violin". But you can easily mention some of these things in the narrative for your extracurricular activities section if they are things you still do (i.e. "I was a 4 year letter winner in soccer and still continue to play intramurals as a college student").
