Has anyone done an away at any of the Mayo sites? Any perspective on what the programs there are like?

I haven't done an away at mayo, but from what I've heard everyone is super nice, especially at Mayo MN. Not much pimping going on. I've heard they just want to see if you are easy to work with and get along with others. I've heard you see all kinds of crazy stuff, that has been sent there from all over the country/planet. Even some of the big name places send stuff to them. Cause they have an inpatient service that can admit and do the million dollar work ups and alot of the esoteric labs are done in house. You also get to see bread and butter too. Most of your time is spent in clinic, you'll spend a few days in the path lab, on the inpatient service and on the surgery side. I've heard most rotaters at MN who leave a good impression often get interviews at all 3 sites. This is just second hand information that I've heard I can't confirm any of this.

I worked at Mayo. Plan on rotating there. Great great people. great residents too. my first choice for residency.
