Are there programs that are excellent in regional and allow residents from other institutions to rotate through their regional experience?

For example, Mayo Rochester gives residents the option of going to BWH for OB for a month.

Do such partnerships or away experiences exist for regional?

i think we, at ccf, have a superior regional experience. we accept rotating residents through other rotations so i can't imagine they wouldn't take outsiders in regional but i think the paperwork takes awhile...

i think Hopkins has an elective for their residents in regional at HSS in Manhattan...?

While on the interview trail, I remember hearing that a few residency programs have partnerships with Virginia Mason (reputably the number one program in regional anesthesiology) for short-term [4 week] resident training in regional anesthesiology.

I can't remember off the top of my head which programs have formal away electives with Virginia Mason, but believe it might be Yale / UCSF.

VM has an agreement with UWashington where a couple of their residents come over for 2 months. I think a total of 9 or 10 of there residents ultimately rotate every year. I think it's pretty hard to do a rotation there otherwise.

The HSS Anesthesiology department has academic affiliations with Cornell (obviously), UCSF,Hopkins and VMason. I know that Hopkins residents often rotate through HSS as an elective month during their CA3 year. Not sure why V Masion would have an affiliation with HSS but it does. HSS does accept applications for outside rotations during the CA3 year but its time consuming and space is limited. Clearly its easier for residents at institutions that are affiliated with HSS to set up a rotation. If I'm not mistaken, Columbia residents can also very easily set up regional rotations at HSS through their assocation with NYPH. They would more likely go to SLR since that is their academic affiliation.
