Hey guys,
I am an M3 who is going to start rotations in a month. I most likely want to go into med (but I am open to surgery depending on how much I like that rotation). As of now, I really want to do my IM in a popular city (San Fran, NYC, Chicago). My question is, what do I need to do have the best chance to match into these programs?
1. Do I need to do an away rotation there and if so then when?
2. Do I need to have family there in order to even have a chance to match?
3. How do I gather unbiased information about what the atmosphere is like for interns at a particular program if I don't get a chance to visit the place?
