Hi everyone!

I just took the DAT today. At the end of my exam, I could not make a rational decision as to cry or be happy, or a mix of both. The scores:

PAT: 20
QR: 15
RC: 17
here's where it gets weird
BIO: 23
Gen chem: 23
Orgo: 25

TS: 23
AA: 21

My sGPA is 3.2, so, along with the low QR, I suspect that a retake is likely?

So what happened? Well, after a mini panic attack took over me during the RC section because I was running out of time, English isn't my first language, so after the RC section, I slowly accepted the possibility of a retake at that point, in essence I was demoralized. Had I just known that I rocked the science section, maybe it would have been a slightly different story on the QR.

I am in the same boat. I got 24TS and 16QR...I will share with you what @Ari Rezaei told me:
Congratulations!! You really killed it, I wouldn't even think about the QR section. As a matter of fact, I remember Alan from Coursesaver interviewed UoP about dental school admissions and asked how they look at low QR scores, and as long as everything else looks good it won't cause a problem, relevant video: https://www.coursesaver.com/video/watch/failure-best-areas-of-success/uop-admissions-interview

Your RC is low, but I don't think a retake is absolutely necessary. It just depends on what schools you want to go too.

Hi russel!

It's weird, because when I read your breakdown a while ago whenever you posted it, I had a gut feeling I'd be in the same boat as you as far as QR goes.

Yea, RC is low, I'll make sure I make it clear that English isn't my first language. One of the ADA folks should try to take an identical RC test in Spanish or French or Arabic and see how they score 😛
