I've been accepted to both AZCOM and KCOM. I've been told by a lot of people to go to KCOM because of their name. I equally like both schools. Does KCOM really have a much bigger name than AZCOM? Would going to KCOM help me get a better residency? Which school would you choose?
Thanks for your help!

That is a tough choice. I believe they both have great programs, and last year AZCOM placed some of their students into some very competitive allopathic residencies. I'm sure you already know the structural differences between their clinical rotation programs. If you would be happy in either structure, I would suggest deciding based on location. Which location would provide you with the environment to maximize your potential as a medical student?

I was in the same position 4 years ago. I decided to go to AZCOM as the above writer listed. The opportunities and location of Phoenix is much more to my style than was KCOM. That being said you only spend 2 years in Kirksville then enter a lottery system to do the 2 clinical years in on of about 9 cities, one of which is Phoenix. I don't think the name means anything. I'm attending an allopathic residency and a DO is a DO, no one knows kcom from azcom from unecom in my experience. What they do seem to respond to is I went to medical school in missouri vs phoenix vs LA etc.

AZCOM is about 7K more per year plus living more than KCOM, some more meat to chew on

my 2 cents
