I have been accepted to both schools and I cannot decide between the two. I know that I want to attend a school that I will enjoy myself, best quality education from quality educators, have the best preparation for the COMLEX, most diverse clinical exposure, best national reputation, and best chances to enter my residency of choice. I do not know which of these schools will meet these needs best. I have only lived in Texas. The atmosphere at both campuses was nice and friendly. Thanks for the help in advance.

I think you have to wear your white coats to class at NOVA. Thats enough reason for me not to attend no matter how good the school is.

Hi Cola,

I am in a similar situation. I was also accepted to both programs but personally AZCOM was not for me. I think its a great school but I was not a fan of how the rotations are done but perhaps it is something that you like. I also did not like having tests every week. Each school has its advantages and disadvatages.

I live in FL near NOVA so I might need a change of pace but I thought NOVA program was excellent as well. The dress code is a pain but I don't think its all that bad. When I was there on my interview or when I go there to study the students are dressed in scrubs or other acceptable clothing. You only have to wear the white coat on the 5th (or 4th?) floor. The thing that really bothered me was the mandatory attendance. I am a person who goes to class but I think it is ridiculous for a professional school and the fact that it can hurt your grade if you have an "unexcused absence" is absurd. Rumor has it that you will have to scan your ID before class (maybe after) but I don't think that it will really work out for them in the end. Its too difficult to enforce that strictly with 200+ students and 10 minutes btwn a class.

Anyway, I feel that if they want to improve (in general, comlex pass rate %) they should be looking elsewere (curriculum, make sure faculty is communicating the material effectively, tests etc.)

That is enough of my rambling. Its going to be a difficult decision but I say go with your gut instinct. How did you feel at each school? You will get a great education wherever you go as long as you make the most of what you are given. (Also, location may be a factor, I like the weather in FL better personally, and I love the beach) I am stressing out about this decision as well so I know its easier said than done.

Best of luck to you. If you have any more questions feel free to ask or pm me.
