Hello,

I applied the 4th week of sept to both MD and DO schools. I received 1 interview only at AZCOM and was ultimately accepted. The tuition is quite high...and I am considering to try again next year and applying way earlier in June.

My stats are 3.8 cGPA and 3.8sGPA and 507 MCAT.

Is it true that DO schools will know that I rejected an acceptance the previous years?

I am unsure exactly how schools can see it (they either ask you outright on the primary, secondary, or your information gets pulled from last cycle - I cannot remember), but ultimately, yes they know. Let us play hypothetical; lets say they cannot see it from last cycle but they ask you if you have ever been accepted, and you say "no" then they find out you lied, you'll be rejected or kicked out of school regardless.

Further, your GPA and MCAT look plenty good for DO schools and a lot of MD schools, but applying the fourth week in September is late for MD schools. However, suffice to say, I know plenty of people with lower stats get interviews - and ultimately accepted - to MD schools who applied that late. I
think you either have red flags or you do not have enough ECs. IF I were you, I would take the acceptance. There is no guarantee you will get into another school - MD or DO. And even if you do, you will still pay like what $100,000 dollars less in tuition over four years? That is a lot, sure, but you will be missing out on that $200,000+ attending salary on the backend.

Take it. It’s not worth the stress for another cycle. And the chance of you getting accepted to anywhere is not guaranteed. I wouldn’t play with my chances like that.

Take it. Solid school.
Sucks the tuition price but one year sooner is an additional year of salary as a physician so $200k+

Like the above poster said, taking a year off will cost you anywhere between 200k-600k of forgone salary. That’s a lot of money and time when trying to pay off loans and save for retirement.

The tuition difference by taking a gap year is costing you not beginning of career salary but end of career salary. Take your acceptance.

Many schools ask "have you been accepted at another med school"

Take the accept.

You'll make the tuition back as a doctor.

It's a risk dude. You wouldnt be choosing MD over DO, you'd be choosing APPLYING to MD/DO over taking a med school ACCEPTANCE.

I would take it if I were in your position.

There are multiple reasons why, but I'm too tired to type it all out.

Just take the accept.

LOL same! I didn’t feel like typing it all out either xD

If you think by retaking MCAT you will hit >515 then MD chances are great beside your EC, otherwise take it DO acceptance.
