I have recently interviewed and been accepted to both AZCOM and TUCOM-NV. I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on these schools. Both schools felt good and had their own pros and cons. I think if it wasn't for TUCOM's "newness" I would probably have no doubts. Does the newness of a school make much of a difference? Will accreditation be a problem? Any help is much appreciated! Thanks 👍 🙂

I'm currently a first year at TUCOM-NV and I love it, and I think the newness is part of what makes it great. Since it is three years old the school is very open to student input and basing the curriculum on suggestions that we have. Also, we have had some of the best proffesors in their fields come here just so they could create their own programs. Also, since TUNV is a branch campus of Marie Island then we have a lot of legitamacy and there is no real fear about accrediation. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Aren't both these schools about the same age give or take a few years??

Never mind, I was thinking of the Mare Island campus. However, I thought Azcom opened about ten years ago which isn't all that old. Most important, all these schools have good reputations. 👍

what are the testing schedules like at both schools?

I like TUCOM-Nev was personal/family reasons, but I heard that given the choice, AZCOM is better. Let's face it...established = secure. I'm sure that's what you want.

TU-NV has block exams, about ever six weeks.
AZCOM has 1-2 exams every monday, I believe. And then other exams when needed.

thanks for the info njD00, do you mind explaining what block exams are?

Block exams are basically one week of tests from each class on the material covered for that 6 week block (so everyday of that block exam week is a test for a class or two)

its basically like a finals week, except with more tests than you've ever had in one week...😱

i like the schedule that way b/c the weekend after blocks is a totally free weekend...we havent had new classes, therefore no new material to study for. its nice to know that in 6 weeks, i will absolutely have a weekend off. 😀

Thanks for the explan!

Isn't it tough though, to have 6 weeks of info riding on a test? Doesn't that also mean that if you screw up a test, your chances for a grood grade is sorta out the window?
