AZCOM sent me an e-mail saying they were primarily focusing on in-state residents for the Class of 2010. Have any out-of-state residents received interviews/acceptances to AZCOM or were they being truthful? Thanks and have a nice day!

I am an out of state resident (Ma) and got an interview/acceptance. I ended up turning down the acceptance, so hopefully that's an extra spot. Good luck.

Yeah, I'm from Utah and interviewed late September. Got accepted the following week. A friend who is on the student government down there told me that they were full and that spots would only open as people turned down acceptances.

I'm from CT, interviewed and accepted in October. Out of approx. 12 people in our interview group, only two were from AZ. You may want to ask them to clarify.

The vast majority of our class is not from Arizona. We have a significant number of students from Utah and California. And many of our students from Arizona attended college in Utah and other states. So I know that our school doesn't show any bias toward state residents.

However, I wouldn't disagree with the Student Council member. They get inside information that the rest of us doesn't. I can see our school pushing for local residents if the majority of our class is already full and lacks enough state residents. I do know the school has gotten increasily competitive over the past year. The rumor is the class of 2009 had the highest entrance stats in the school's history, obviously that may not be true. But it wouldn't suprise me that this year's class has already been filled due to the increased demand.

I am from NY, was granted an interview for September, and I turned it down. One more spot available 🙂.
