B.A. or B.S.?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
For medical schools it isn't really going to make any difference.

Do the B.A. because it probably has easier prerequisite classes (i.e. calculus for engineers vs. calculus for everyone else)

I'm getting a B.A. in chemistry. Getting a BS while trying to fulfill all the med school pre reqs is a nightmare at my school. I'd recommend you do the same as long as you're pretty sure you're doing medicine

If BS has more requirements (which it usally does) then I don't see the point of going through it if you don't intend to go to graduate school. do yourself a favor, just get the BA.

I actually thought the BS was easier to do than the BA (at least at my school). The BA required more ancillary worthless crap that's totally unrelated to your field of study. The BS allowed you to get more in-depth in your field since it required more science courses. I wouldn't get the ACS degree, though - that would be meaningfully only if you were going straight into industry.

Schools won't care one way or the other, really. It all depends on what crap you can tolerate taking.

It would help to know which school you attend. The distinction between Bachelor of Art and Bachelor of Science varies by school. Often a B.A. degree will allow for a greater focus on the humanities, which can be valuable in primary care while a B.S. might allow for greater in-depth study of the sciences which might be valuable if you are pursuing a career in academic medicine.

Huh?
