I am new to this forum, and I could use some advice.
I am currently enrolled in an upper level General Microbiology class at my university and having a harder time that usual. Typically I am an A student in biology, but for this class some reason I am struggling more so than usual. the grading is 60% lecture and 40% lab. I have a low B average and high B low A average in lab. Will one B hurt my application?
The problem isn't that I am not studying quite the contrary I usually start 2.5 weeks before the next exam, the problem is that we cover 10 power points worth of material (30-50 slides each) of in depth material and he will tell us to know every bit of it inside and out. Then on the exam he will have 70+ questions on 4 power points. So then essentially half of your study time has been wasted.
I am about 90% sure that I will pass in the B- B+ range, but that is the absolute best I can do
my semester grades will look like
Gen. Micro B/B+
Gen Chem 2 A/A-
Arg & Deb A
Calc 1 A
Intro to Latin 1 A
Edit: If it helps I am also juggling extra curriculars of Genetics Research (student thesis and preliminary experiment to work with CRISPR/CAS-9) and Vice President of a co founded volunteer organization
