It's not horrible, but don't rush yourself - you'll be doing this the rest of your life, so enjoy it as you go. If you can finish it easily, I see nothing wrong with it. What year are you now?

I'm doing it in three years as well. I came in with more than enough credits to do that and figured 3 years of college was enough since 4 years of high school was too long 😛 PM me if you have any other questions? 🙂

I don't think it's a bad idea. There's a chance some schools may view you prejudicially as being too "young", but that's doubtful and not reason enough to postpone applying. I know people who've done this and been successful.

From another perspective, though, you might want to consider if there's anything you want to try (or fun you want to have 😉 ) before entering the never-ending world of medical training. It is much easier to take time off before med school than before residency, and you have a natural opportunity to enjoy a year off without falling "behind" your pre-med classmates (not that there's anything wrong with being a little behind either!). Whatever you decide though, this is a personal decision, so there are no right or wrong answers. Good luck in whatever you decide to pursue.

I hear you have to be quite the extraordinary applicant to get in with only 3 years.

That's if you don't have a bachelor's degree. If you don't have a degree, and you've only been in for three years, you have to be top-notch. If you got your degree quickly, you're in the same pool as everyone else.

Why does everyone want to rush it so much. Don't do that to yourself, you don't want it!

👍

I'm 25 and I wish I started a little earlier, but I wouldn't give up my experiences for anything. Live a little!!

I'd say finish in three years and then take a year off to travel. I deferred my acceptance until next fall, and I do believe it's the best decision I've ever made.

What is your rationale for trying to finish early?
