I was trained always using Bicitra and all the anesthesia books I read only mention Bicitra. However, some of the folks I work with continue to use Alka-Seltzer Gold because it tastes better to the patient. The question I have is wether the latter is truly a non-particulate antacid? I always thought a small amount of residue remains after the tablets are dissolved. Doesn't that nullify the non-particulate aspect? Does anyone use it and is one the standard of care over the other. Thanks.

Correction. I will use it if I drink the green tea we have here at the hospital. That **** gives me wicked heartburn.
