Debating whether or not to start this thread in the midst of everybody getting interviews, but I thought it might help the "non-traditional" applicants.
I just signed my contract start for UPMC with a CA-1 start in July 2010.
I have been serving my HPSP commitment in the AF as a Flight Surgeon. It has been over two years of primary care and I am slowly losing my mind. At least now, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I am real excited to back into residency and back in a teaching environment.
I am absolutely thrilled about going to Pittsburgh and back into my chosen specialty. It was a strong program (especially for Critical Care) back when I interviewed and remains strong. I can't answer many questions about the program, but I can answer some and why I choose this location for training. For those that match there, you are picking a great program in every sense.
Good luck to everybody in the match. It was a little stressful when I was going through it (especially with dealing with military match), but I had a lot of fun during the process. 👍
