Ok, I was wondering if anyone knew any information regarding schools and background checks when applying to Pharm schools. I know some schools ask if,your were ever convicted or were you ever charged. The convicted part I dont have a problem with. However I was charged with a misdemeanor over 7 years ago and I dont want to add this to my application if I dont have to. Do you think this will come back to haunt me?

It doesn't look like there are too many other candidates in the same situation as you. If I were you, I wouldn't try to run from my past. I've made a lot of big mistakes in my life, and the biggest mistake was what actually led me to pharmacy. People change. People grow up and learn from their experiences. If confronted about it, don't be ashamed of your past, just show that you have learned from it.

Just think, our former president smoked weed but "didn't inhale." And our current president used to be a big drinker. That didn't prevent either one of them from becoming the most powerful man in America. Judge Mathis used to be a self proclaimed car stealing, drug using gang-banger and now he is a respected judge with his own t.v. show.
