I knew an older woman (in her 40s) who was a nurse, but when she started getting older, she was not able to perform at the level needed to be a nurse anymore, so she decided to become a pharmacist because it was not as physically demanding. And one of the pharmacists at work was telling me that she knew a doctor who was getting tired of that, so he became a pharmacist to be able to research drugs/drug therapies.
My take: both are A LOT of money, so figure out which you like more and stick with it.
