I am a junior. Due to class scheduling issues for the spring, I may have to take Physics 2 in the summer though my AMCAS I will submit at the beginning of June.

Will this have a negative bearing upon my application? Med schools will frown upon this?

There is likely going to be a good amount of stuff you will learn in Physics 2 on the MCAT, which you will want to take NO later than the summer to be competitive for this year. If you're good at self-teaching you may be able to swing it but I found some of the material in Physics 2 to be some of the hardest stuff I've ever had to learn so far (electromagnetism and such... FML).

I have already taken the MCAT. It is simply a matter of completing this prerequisite for med schools.

Oh, okay. Well, then, I doubt they'll care, as long as your pre-reqs are done before you would matriculate.

From what I've read, most med schools only require them to be completed prior to matriculation. Even though some do request they be done by application time. But for the majority, you're good to go.

i disagree my friend who has great stats ~ 3.9 sgpa, 37 mcat nice e.c.'s anyways hadn't done his pre req for orgo and is not in a great position now.. some advisors have told him that not finishing the pre req may have hurt him

in a way some schools may see it as u trying to "dodge" it

This is always a concern when it comes down to the major BCPM pre-reqs. If taking physics II is only possibly during the summer, then simply send update letters to the schools telling them what grade you got. Otherwise, I suggest you try to fit into your spring semester to avoid headaches later on.

It shouldn't hurt you. Some schools require that your pre reqs are done by app time but not all. The only school I had to withdraw from as a result was Temple. Oh and I'm pretty much doing pre reqs all the way up to graduation and no one commented negatively on it. when I submitted amcas, I had bio labs, stats, and last quarter of physics left to go. You can just update them as you go along.
