I took some post bacc classes to raise my gpa and to retake some classes. Summer and fall went well (about ~3.9 gap)... This spring semester I'm looking at ~3.3. I'm planning on applying this summer. How bad does this look? Cumulative gpa should be ~3.2. URM w/ good ECs. Retaking MCAT (previous 23)

Do adcoms see grades by semester or by year? Because if it's by year then I'll have around a 3.7 post bacc gpa

When you send them your transcript they see each class you took and the semester in which you took it.

Not good; what community do you represent? If Latino, please be specific.

Dang I have a borderline A in two classes. I'm hoping my professors will bump them up.

I'm an African American

Being African American makes a HUGE difference in this application process. I would apply MD if I were you. DO programs are less concerned with URM status. It's not like it is any easier for my African American peeps, but you have much more leeway in terms of stats, given you have everything else in order. It does make a difference.
this. being AA carries a lot more weight with MD schools.

My ~3.2 GPA is only for DO schools since I retook some classes. TMDSAS is about 3.0 with strong upward trend. Don't think I'll apply to out of state MD schools unless it's the HBCUs which I still have a low chance of getting in.

So is it like a single B or something like that bringing you down? If so, not a big deal.

I definitely going to get a B in one class. I have a high B (88 and 89) in two other classes and am hoping the professors will bump them up to an A.

I am pretty sure this is illegal and discriminatory. Unless approved by an affirmative action plan by the general assembly of your state(or whatever your state legislative body is called).

UPDATE: I ended with ~3.7 GPA for this semester. Total Post bacc ~3.9 with about 45 units. Now to do well on this MCAT.
