So I took my DAT around the end of August. My target school is UOP. My GPA is around 3.15 Science, 3.3 Overall. I did pretty bad on the QR section, but wanted to know if I still have a chance based off of those that know more then me in this area. Here are my scores:

AA: 19

TS: 21
OC:22
GC:21
BiO:19
RC:18
QR:15
PA:21

I think I am okay with all the sections except the QR. Is retaking a must? How valued is the QR section (I heard not very). Any knowledge on this would be much appreciated.

PS: I only used Kaplan study materials, and I have to say, my QR on the real test was soo different from what I practiced. I was getting 20's on the QR practice tests...

You can ask Dr. Yarbough (?), the admission dean.

I think your QR might be really low for UOP even though your other scores are really good.

I have a friend who had the same QR and could not get into even a state school for the past two years. She has above average in all other sections but she just could not do well in QR section.

I heard the cut offs for any section is around 17 for any dental schools for average people (no dentist dad, no super extracurricular activities, no 4.0 GPA from Ivy schools, & etc)...and sadly, it is going up and up each year.

Don't lose hope. I have a 15 in QR too and I already got an interview. Despite popular belief, the DAT is not the only thing they take into consideration.
