BAD RC...wanted to apply this cycle.

I just took my DAT and did not get the score I want

AA: 19
TS: 20
PAT:21

RC: 16

Idk what happened. On bootcamp I was consistently getting 22-24. On the 2007 ADA DAT I got a 25 on RC and on the 2009 ada DAT, I got a 22. I'm very confused. It brought my whole AA down.

I wanted to apply this cycle and I have about a 3.5 gpa and sgpa 3.0. I want to retake it but I would have to wait 90 days. I started my application and wanted to turn it in by the end of this week.

I'm at a loss, not sure what to do

I would vote for a retake. Schools value RC scores more so than you would think. Also your 3.5 gpa and 3.0 sci gpa would be concerning in pairing with a low RC score.

Your sgpa is a bit low. I find it hard to retake with a 19 AA and 20 TS if you had a 18+ RC. But a 16 RC is not making up for the low sgpa....I believe you would need a retake under these circumstances.

In my opinion, I would apply with this score as soon as you can, and then take it again and let the schools know how you did the second time around. You have NOTHING to lose by applying this cycle and just seeing how it goes! You may be surprised- you never know whats gonna happen. Also, don't sweat it if you don't make it this cycle. I know tons and TONS of people who apply again and eventually get in! Just keep up the hard work and show them you're dedicated 🙂 But by all means apply this cycle! You already did all the hard work. I think you're fine. There are people in my class that got a 17 and below AA and very average grades.

A 16RC is below the cutoffs of many schools. I recommend a retake.

Definitely still apply. September is not too late for a retake. My friend retook her DAT in early November and still had 6 post December interviews and 4 acceptances (all private schools). I believe she got a 17 AA the first time and maybe a 19 or 20 AA the second? However, I will be honest- she had a good GPA. Apply broadly and if you have good ECs, you will not be in bad shape. Submit your application and alert schools about your re-take, and keep up to date with them about your interest in their program so your name doesn't get lost in the bunch.
