Bad undergrad GPA, okay postbacc, good MCAT + amazing SMP - Still chances at MD?

Texas med schools tend to be a little more GPA-centered than average, so your UG school could be very important. You said 'prestigious'. Is it also a known grade deflator? (Think MIT, CalTech, Cornell, UC Berkeley)

If not, the questions I would have pertain to your work ethic and consistency. (Hmmm, this person's clearly very bright -- but why the low GPA? Immature? Partier? Emotional health issues?)

Strive to address those concerns in your essays.

Is Berkeley really known for grade deflation as mentioned^^
How much of an effect does this have with admissions?
